NSW:Record-breaking heatwave expires

SYDNEY, Feb 6 AAP - Sydneysiders breathed a collective sigh of relief as the city's
record-breaking heatwave died of natural causes.

A typical southerly cold front moved across the city about 2pm (AEDT) on Sunday, dramatically
dropping temperatures and bringing much-needed respite after seven days of searing heat.

"The hot spell has been broken and we'll return to more normal temperatures in the
coming week," a Bureau of Meteorology spokeswoman told AAP.
